چکیده

Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) is the causative agent of infectious enteritis called that has a high economic impact on worldwide livestock production. A central important question arises: Can wildlife animals serve as reservoir for transmission MAP to domestic ruminants? With this in mind, we devised study detect various Slovakian species found areas where had been documented ruminants. The samples parenchymatous organs (intestines, ileocecal valve and mesenteric lymphatic nodes) from 83 representing 13 species, inclu- ding 7 herbivorous, 5 carnivorous 1 omnivorous were collected during four-year period. clinical pathological examinations failed demonstrate any manifestations samples. detection was done by widely used tests, i.e. cultivation PCR analysis. bacterial cultures revealed growth spp. colonies 58 (70%) all wild animals, but testing demonstrated only one (7.69%) roe deer population.

Differential responses of bovine macrophages to Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium subsp. avium.

Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium subsp. avium are antigenically and genetically similar organisms; however, they differ in their virulence for cattle. M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis causes a chronic intestinal infection leading to a chronic wasting disease termed paratuberculosis or Johne's disease, whereas M. avium subsp. avium causes only a transient infec...

Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in Veterinary Medicine.

Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (basonym M. paratuberculosis) is the etiologic agent of a severe gastroenteritis in ruminants known as Johne's disease. Economic losses to the cattle industry in the United States are staggering, reaching $1.5 billion annually. A potential pathogenic role in humans in the etiology of Crohn's disease is under investigation. In this article, we review t...

What is Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis?

We read with interest the article by Beumer et al. (1) on the detection of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in 81% of drinking water and biofilm samples by PCR. Although these findings could have a significant influence on our understanding and the potential public impact of M. avium subsp. paratuberculosis as an agent of disease, much of the information on M. avium subsp. paratuberc...

Detection of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis in the mesenteric lymph nodes of goats by PCR and culture

The efficacy of bacterial cultures and IS900-specific polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was compared for the detection of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis (MAP) from the mesenteric lymph nodes of goats. Samples were collected from 75 goats slaughtered in Ilam, in southwest of Iran. Tissue homogenates were inoculated onto four media. The genomic DNA was extracted directly from mesenteri...
